Who We Are
This Website is dedicated to our daughter, Sarah, and everyone who is dealing with cancer. Sarah's heroic and successfull battle against a malignant muscle tumor is the storyline of Judith's book. A year-long ordeal of chemotherapy inspired Judith to write what has become a practical survival guide for families coping with cancer.
The book led to the formation of JC Publishers—a unique ministry of help and support for cancer victims and their families, as well as a source of information for authors who want to write and publish a book.
♦ Our primary focus, however, is ministry to churches through seminars and conferences. The following is an overview of our experience:
Ted Bowman has served as evangelist, pastor, associate pastor, Christian school principal and dean, as well as a public school teacher in the secular arena. He also has experience as a residential building contractor and as a commercial construction superintendent.
Judith had been a hairdresser for nearly twenty years when they met. As a teenager, she developed and implemented a puppet ministry while serving as children's church leader in her local church. She is an experienced hospitality hostess with strong leadership and organizational skills. She also ministers with her husband in seminars and conferences and is an accomplished Christian counselor.
His first year out of Bible College, Ted walked the streets of downtown Chicago ministering to troubled youth. He and his wife have ministered often to Youth for Christ Clubs and spent a year as full-time counselors at Anchor House, a group home for abused and neglected teens in Auburndale, Florida. As a result, their ministry to youth has been greatly enhanced.
This seasoned couple brings to local churches a sincere desire to win the lost while encouraging and spiritually equipping believers. Their ministry is highlighted by instrumental and vocal music that offers everything from God-centered praise and worship to old-fashioned Southern Gospel.
Ted survived a brain stem stroke in 1995 with no long-term side effects. His neurosurgeon, reluctant to use the word miracle, said, "You were a nice surprise to us, and we can use a surprise like that once in a while." The head ICU nurse nicknamed Ted "The Miracle Man," and said, "There is no way he should be alive."
Our seven-year-old daughter survived stage-four, terminal cancer in 1999, much to the surprise of her doctors. Their goal was to shrink the tumor to half-size within three months and then, surgically remove it. The highly malignant tumor disappeared within four weeks after diagnosis. Doctors had no explanation.
In September, 2003, Judith had two discs miraculously restored in her neck. Initial x-rays showed a severe "S" curverture of her neckbone; post x-rays showed a normal neck. A car accident in May of 2000 had left her partially disabled. A “God is faithful” mindset permeates their message.
